Keep buying those seeds!

It won't be long now before we are sowing our first seeds of the year, whether indoors to get an early start, or even outside (many hardy seeds can be sown in March). In addition, onion sets can be put out now, and seed potatoes will need to be set to chit ahead of planting out (traditionally on Good Friday!).

All of these can be obtained from Dobies, with whom we have an arrangement for a big 50% discount against catalogue prices for seeds, and 15% for onion sets and seed potatoes. And there are lots of other interesting plants available from Dobies, including pots for planting out,  and bare-rooted shrubs and trees (but order quick as these need to be put in before leaf-break).

You can order from the catalogue (copies available in the Trading Hut at Meadow Road or from the Society) or online at www.dobies.co.uk.  In either case you will need the Society's discount code; to get this contact any Committee member, call in at the Trading Hut, or contact Denise, our Seed Scheme Secretary, at  or on 01992 576971.

We need a minimum number of people to order to maintain our discount level - at time of writing we are still 11 people short, so if you are thinking about seeds or plants, please think about using our scheme! You can continue ordering at any time throughout the year. If you do order, please let Denise know so she can keep our records straight with Dobies. .
